Ang Luha at Lualhati ni Jeronima is a short historical drama co-directed by CJ Santos and Ritchie Jota, marking CJ Santos’ official directorial debut and Witty Jack’s first major step from web development into the world of independent filmmaking.

A collaboration between Witty Jack Media Production and Brainhouse Film Production, the film stars Ardi Aquino, Karen Gutierrez, and Aljo Sanchez, and brings to life the untold emotional journey of Jeronima, a lesser-known figure mentioned in El Filibusterismo by national hero Jose Rizal. Through a reimagined narrative, the film explores themes of betrayal, sacrifice, and the quiet strength of women forgotten by history.

This powerful short gained recognition from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and received international screenings in Nigeria and Cyprus, further establishing the voice of Filipino indie cinema on the global stage.
